American Citizens just penned and signed their own death warrant
Thanks to facebook and what not, its incredibly easy to see what your friends think without actually having to talk to them. This plays in really well for those of us like myself who are passive aggressive (in fact, some might refer to me as passive aggressiveness at its finest). Overwhelmingly it seems that everybody is saying something to the efffect of “i’m moving to _______ (insert country’s name) because Barack Osama got elected” or “Well this is going to suck for four years” or “Socialism here we come.” To my friends I say the following, don’t be ignorant. In the election season where everyone gets their news from whatever political pundits are saying rather than any credible source, people are missing drastically what is being said. One can’t paint a president’s upcoming term in such broadstrokes. While the religious right was busy trying to vote a candidate in who will overturn Roe v. Wade (even though he said he wouldn’t use his justices to do so,” they missed the point of what happened.
America elected a president who will have a historic term, not just because he is black and the first black president at that, but rather because he will have the responsibility of resurrecting a nation that is currently down on its luck relatively speaking. Obama will have to try and stabalize our economy, deal with a war we shouldn’t be fighting, and other things. However, it was the gentle voice of Brian Williams who noted last night, that no other presidential candidate in recent history has been so consumed with bi-partisan efforts.
Folks, the base of this is, Barack Obama could get stuff done, because he’s more concerned with getting it done, than blindly following party lines. If more people were concerned with getting stuff done instead of voting straight party lines, we’d be in a better position. And yes, that position would be headed by Ralph Nader and Matthew Gonzales.
Dare to be great, You’ve been a great audience.

i just can’t stand how everyone jumped on the Obama band wagon so quickly. Of all of the candidates running for president, he is one of the least experienced. He comes in talking about change and shakin things up and making things better, but how? Everyone knows that the candidates will say all these great things in their campaigning but so little of it will get done. Under Obama’s proposed tax changes, at my income I’ll pay more taxes than McCain’s proposal. I don’t like the idea of spreading the wealth or a universal health care. I very much support privatizing social security and I am 100% against a universal health care system (although we are taking advantage of Medicaid as we were poor/still are and just couldn’t provide for prenatal care for our baby). Now I know that McSame isn’t much better and that he’s right up the alley with Bush.. But frankly, I wasn’t suffering from Bush’s time in office. I had a job, safety, freedom.. all the things that I hope I’ll still have under Obama (which I’m sure I will).
I’ll confess, I usually vote republican regardless. Up until a couple months ago I wasn’t going to vote for either of the 2 main candidates because neither of them seemed a good choice. I voted for Sen. McCain over Sen. Obama because I decided to vote how I felt God wanted ME to vote, however you want to interpret that.
I stopped caring about how it all of this will affect me about 4.5 months ago. Now I care about how it will affect my baby girl. Will she have the health care that she needs if she needs it. Will I still be able to offer her the things she deserves, or will I rely on hand-me-downs and “gently used” items. These are the things that concern me now and are the primary reason for my aligning myself with McCain/Palin. I feel I’ll be better off with them as our P/VP than with Obama/Biden.

I agree that he has been the most bi-partisan candidate thus far, but he does support some pretty horrible things. His most noted belief is, obviously, abortion. I just can’t comfortably sit back and watch someone who believes that leaving a baby in a room to die because the mother didn’t want it, is alright.
